FineLine's QCtrak App

QCtrak is a mobile app that FineLine Technologies offers its RFID customers to provide quality control on RFID tagging systems. The QCtrak software was originally developed by FineLine in 2013 for internal use, but the company is excited to now provide this tool to its RFID customers.

The app allows users to verify that their RFID tags have been programmed correctly and are operating properly. QCtrak, in seconds, provides information on the embedded RFID tag including the ability to:

  • Verify encoded UPC and printed UPC match
  • Check the readability of the tag
  • Ensure RFID data is encoded correctly
  • Ensure EPC data is locked

This innovative quality control tool allows FineLine’s customers, such as Paris Corp, to assure the tag’s data is correct and capture any errors before labels are applied to merchandise and shipped to retail customers. The QCtrack app utilizes the Zebra TC22 mobile computer and RFD40 premium plus sled. The QCtrak app integrates the data collected from RFID scanners with FineLine’s FASTtrak platform. This integration connects the scans to commissioning order data and supports auditing and reporting needs.

QCtrak is one of the many new RFID solutions FineLine has developed to support product manufacturers new to RFID tagging. FineLine has successfully helped customers overcome new RFID-related challenges with product solutions such as labels on rolls specifically designed for high-speed applications, providing specialty adhesive for direct to merchandise application, and printing integrated labels to combine the prime label and RFID tag into a single label application.

Furthermore, FineLine recognizes that there is not a one-size-fits-all solution for RFID tagging. By releasing apps like QCtrak or providing solutions such as integrated RFID tags, FineLine continues to serve their customers with the latest technology to successfully implement effective RFID systems.
