Vulcanizable RFID Bead Labels

For years, tire manufacturers and their customers have relied on barcode bead labels. These labels, applied to green tires during the building stage, have become fully automated. Fineline has innovated this process by integrating RFID chips into the same barcode bead labels. This allows tire producers to use their existing processes while benefiting from the added advantages of RFID technology. The matching barcode and RFID code ensures seamless integration. This solution stands as the most cost-efficient, vulcanizable RFID option on the market, ideal for tire producers aiming to methodically transform their factories into digital manufacturing hubs.
FineLine’s vulcanizable bead labels offer additional features and benefits:

Withstands pressure and curing temperatures of up to +210C.
Printed on a film liner, offering optimum dispensing performance directly onto the tire using existing automatic label applicators.
In case (green) tires are painted (sprayed) (such as Off The Road (OTR) tires). The paint will not remain on our coated and protected labels and therefore can be wiped off easily.
Available in multiple sizes and shapes, including a thin curved bead label for passenger car radial and low profile tires, or a larger label for larger truck, bus, or radial tires, and OTR tires.
Pre and Post-Cure Bead Labels
Our post-cure bead labels are applied to the tire following vulcanization. While the post-cure label is the same product as the vulcanized, pre-cure label, it is not applied until the manufacturing process begins.
Our post-cure bead labels offer additional features and benefits:
- Options for unique identifiers, such as human-readable, 1D or 2D barcodes, or UHF RFID.
- Withstands pressure and curing temperatures of up to +180C.
- Allows customers to uniquely identify each tire, or rubber product, after vulcanization; i.e. identifying existing tires in a fleet or during the retreading process.
- Label construction and printing is designed for rubber vulcanization ensuring physical label integrity and print quality throughout the process even during high heat manufacturing.
- Available in multiple sizes and shapes, including a thin curved bead label for passenger car radial and low profile tires, or a larger label for larger truck, bus, or radial tires, and off-the-road tires.
RFID Barcode Bead Label for Retread of Truck, Bus, and Airplane Tires
Retreading is a specialized process where truck, bus, and airplane tires receive a new tread. Often, retreading involves a low-temperature vulcanizing process. Traditional RFID barcode bead labels are unsuitable because the tire carcass is reused, and some new rubber components are already half vulcanized. To address this, FineLine developed an RFID barcode bead label with a very thin layer of green (non-vulcanized) rubber. This layer ensures exceptionally strong adhesion, comparable to that achieved in a normal vulcanizing process.

Tread Labels
Apply the tread label to the tire tread to display compliance and branding information and provide full traceability of every tire, enabling automotive manufacturers to associate tires directly with rings, vehicles, and customers.
Our tread labels offer additional features and benefits:
- Options for unique identifiers, such as human-readable, 1D or 2D barcodes, or UHF RFID.
- Print in color or monochrome using patented “4-dry-edge” for minimal maintenance and cleaning of printers and applicators.
- Adhere to a wide range of tire types, including shaved or unshaved, and those with smooth or aggressive tread patterns. Labels also adhere to different compounds and withstand harsh environmental conditions.

Mold Management
FineLine’s patented RFID mold management solution offers fast and accurate tracking of molds, mold parts, and bladders on presses and throughout the warehouse. This enhances process efficiency and data accuracy significantly.
